Great question, and we are so glad you asked!
At Bloom Developmental Center, therapy is relationship-based, movement-informed, and deeply individualized. We do not focus on isolated skills or compliance-based goals. Instead, we support the whole child by addressing regulation, connection, communication, and confidence together.
Our therapist, Ashley Gillespie, draws from Floortime, speech and language therapy, and mental health principles, but sessions often look different than traditional therapy. Children learn through movement, play, co-regulation, and meaningful interaction rather than table work or rigid drills.
We work very closely with parents and caregivers, because real progress happens in everyday life. Families are supported with practical tools and guidance so strategies can be carried into the home, community, and school settings. Therapy at Bloom is for the parent and child!
Bloom is not about “fixing” a child. It is about building the nervous system and social-emotional foundations that allow learning, communication, and emotional growth to unfold naturally.
